Vacation - is this part 4 now?

We stayed at a set of cabins in South Dakota. It was called Double D Bed and Breakfast Cabins They were nice. They are one room cabins with a double bed, a couch that folds out to another double bed and a loft with a single bed it in. There is a small refridgerator, sink, microwave, satelite TV, DVD player and a bathroom with a shower. They are cozy! Here is a shot of the one we stayed in.

And from the outside:

The owners have two horses and a mule that the kids just loved! Here is Kyle with the horses.

Is this not an awesome picture of Chelle with one of the horses.

Well, that was our vacation in a nutshell!!! We had a great time!

Vacation - Part 3 - Deadwood

Ok - I'm back - hehehe!!! I had a few minutes to update some more on my blog. These are more pictures from our trip to South Dakota. We took a day and went to

It was so much fun! It is a small town filled with historic places and stories! It is the town that Wild Bill Hickok was shot and killed during a poker game. There is a saloon in town that re-enacts that game. Everyday - two actors (Wild Bill and the man who shot him) recruit three audience members and they re-enact that day.

This is the actor who plays Wild Bill. He is so funny! He walks around the town all day - giving people a hard time, doing this re-enactment and doing shoot-outs in town!

Here is a shot of the lucky audience members and Wild Bill playing cards. That game is funny because the three members aren't actors and Wild Bill tries to lead them threw the whole thing! LOL

Here is Wild Bill at the end of the game. OUCH!

The saloon has the actual chair that Wild Bill was sitting in when he was shot. It is in a glass case above the door.

And this is a shot of Wild Bill's grave marker. It is in a cemetary that sits on a hill that overlooks the town. His grave is next to Calamity Jane's grave.

Deadwood was so much fun! I just loved it! I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area!

VACATION part 2 = Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse

On the same day that we went to the Mammoth Dig - we also went to Mount Rushmore. What an amazing site! I was so impressed! It was beautiful!

And yes - I actually asked for my picture to be taken - lol!!! I hate pictures - I really do - but every vacation we go on - I get one picture of my honey and me!!!

This was the most amazing site I have ever seen. It is a memorial to Crazy Horse. It is not even close to being done. I think they estimated 65 more years. I highly recommend reading the story behind it! It was incredible! I was totally awe struck! All four of the heads at Mount Rushmore can fit into the space that just Crazy Horse's head takes up on this mountain.

The sculpture in the front is a scale model of what the mountain will look like when completed! AMAZING!!!

VACATION!!! Mammoth Dig - Hot Springs, SD

This is one of the spots we hit on our vacation this year. We spent 5 days in the Black Hills of South Dakota! We had a lot of fun! These pictures are of a massive recovering mission of Mammoths

It is a live dig and you get to watch (well if they are there). It is cool!

This one is of one they call "Napolean Bone-a-part" LOL - it is the most intact specimen recovered - they can not get him out yet because they want to do it in one piece and he is evidentally pretty dang heavy - lol

Just another shot of a different area!

Again - more views!!

This one is of Kyle inside a teepee thing made out of Mammoth tusks and hides. It is so cool!

Manual Labor!!!

HA – we are awful parents aren’t we – lol!!!! This is Kyle mowing the backyard! He isn’t a fan but he does it! Prior to mowing he gets to pick up all the little puppy packages left in the yard (I didn’t think a picture of that was a good idea)!!! In the distant background - you can catch a glimpse of the Grand Mesa!!! I live in a beautiful part of the country!!!

Showing off

I just had to show you all my beautiful roses that I got on my anniversary! (after my honey and I promised each other we wouldn't buy each other anything - lol)!!!
They were beautiful and they lasted almost three weeks!!!

Just had to share!!!

My house

***Whistles and Bells*** Finally!!! I have pictures and can update my blog – I am so excited – lol!!! These are pictures of the house we are renting. We moved into it in late May and are loving it (well - for the most part - lol)!!!

Here it is! This is our house (for now)! It is a cute three bedroom, two bathroom home! We just love it!

K - this is my kitchen! Looks a little different now. I have updated it with Sunflower drapes. That door on the far side of the kitchen is our laundry room!

This is a shot of the backyard. We bought the gazebo and the patio furniture was a gift.

This is my HUGE living room! I LOVE IT!!! Those blue couches are no longer with us - lol!!! They were replaced recently with a sofa, loveseat and chair in a sage green enduro suede!!! That perch that Bandit has is a no no now!

Well - there it is - a peek into my house! Hope you liked the tour - lol!!!
